Praise him, sun and moon! Praise him, all you shining stars!
Several stars have blessed my life.
Irene, God’s Star 1
Irene was an oasis. She was the secretary at a public school in Los Angeles.
In that heated environment, she was the encourager, the counselor, the “I’ll-be-praying-for-you” light-at-the-end-of-the-tunnel gal.
I remember seeing teachers sobbing behind her desk while she counseled them. She was full of smiles and hugs. Somehow she always had time to check in with whoever was passing through. She gave everyone Jesus.
Donna, God’s Star 2
Donna was a haven as well. She was an elderly woman living in the high desert who kept a prayer book with a friend’s name at the top of each page.
The lines were filled with the needs and praises of her neighbors and family. She couldn’t offer big money or grand connections but she had great advice on how to organize and clean a home, and she always had an empty space in her book and in her prayer time.
Jinny, God’s Star 3
Jinny was a light for her neighborhood in Illinois.
Though she was weakening with multiple sclerosis, her thriving spirit was eager to counsel and pray. She helped bring unsaved husbands into the kingdom and gave struggling moms strength.
What shining stars bless you?
What are some ways I can shine and help others find Jesus?
Loving Lord, Please help me shine as one of Your stars by selflessly helping others find Jesus today. I pray in the name of Jesus, Who is the Brightest Star ever — the Morning Star, Amen.
