Patience is the ability to trust and wait on God in times of difficult challenges, even when nothing seems to be working.
We can learn how to develop patience by observing people of faith in the Bible like Abraham, Moses, David, Daniel, Esther, Anna, Peter, Paul, and especially Jesus Christ.
Since patience is the fruit of the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of God will help us develop this important quality.
Take time with Jesus every day. Walk with Him, ask Him to give you patience so you can then joyfully reflect His patience to others.
The Lord is patient, for He wants everyone to repent
The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up.
I will patiently wait for God to act
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him. Don’t fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who makes wicked plots happen.
Love is patient
Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud... bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
I patiently wait for God to hear my cry
I waited patiently for the LORD. He turned to me, and heard my cry.
Patience is a fruit of the Holy Spirit
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith...
Patience is better than being proud
Better is the end of a thing than its beginning. The patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit. Don’t be hasty in your spirit to be angry, for anger rests in the bosom of fools.
Patience will be a necessary thing until Christ comes
Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
We can persuade people with patience
By patience a ruler is persuaded. A soft tongue breaks the bone.
Patience promotes peace and unity
With all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Patience is a hallmark of faith
For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees? But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.
Patience is a characteristic of my Christian commitment
Rejoicing in hope; enduring in troubles; continuing steadfastly in prayer; contributing to the needs of the saints; given to hospitality.
Overcoming temptation leads to enduring patience
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
