The heavens declare the glory of God. The expanse shows his handiwork. Day after day they pour out speech, and night after night they display knowledge.
Every morning the sun rises, and it’s the only sunrise of its kind in all the world.
That specific sunrise only happens once, ever. There is never another one like it. Likewise, in the evening, the sun sets and it’s the only one of its kind. No two are the same.
I like to think of the sky, especially the sunrises and sunsets, as God’s paintings: yet another sign of His wondrous love expertly hand-painted in soft reds and oranges, more beautiful than any human hand could paint. And with each day, each sunrise and sunset are different from the last.
As today’s verse declares, nature points to our loving Creator. It is a great way to learn of, and spend time with Him, drawing inspiration from His handiwork.
When Jesus was here on earth, He used things from nature to get His point across, and the people would remember what He had taught when they saw those things in nature again.
Creation points to its Creator, inspiring us with its magnificent richness, teaching us beautiful lessons about His character and amazing love.
How can I set some time aside to spend in nature with God today?
Dear God, Thank You for painting the sky every day for me. Please help me to spend time in Your nature, learning of You. Inspire me to use my talents and gifts for Your glory. Thank You for loving me. Please help me to love You more. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
