The word enthusiasm is a combination of two Greek words: en and theos. The literal meaning is “in God” or “full of God.” That is why enthusiastic people are so creative and joyful! The Bible uses several different words for this idea of being filled with enthusiasm: ardor, zeal, whole-heartedness, or eagerness.
Eagerly seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness
“Seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Live with intentional enthusiasm
Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work, nor plan, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in Sheol, where you are going.
Work with enthusiasm
And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.
Eagerness for God is the key to finding Him
You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.
Commit enthusiastically to living a Godly life
Don’t you know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run like that, that you may win.
Trust God wholeheartedly
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding.
Love with enthusiasm
He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.”
Not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.
Eagerly following where God leads
Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, “Let’s go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it!”
Enthusiasm for God leads to immediate action
As they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?” [Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” He answered, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”]
The rewards of enthusiastic service
In every work that he began in the service of God’s house, in the law, and in the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart, and prospered.
Be eager and willing to finish the work of faith you begin
But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.
God’s zeal for justice and righteousness will last forever
Of the increase of his government and of peace there shall be no end, on David’s throne, and on his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from that time on, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of Hosts will perform this.
Serve God’s people willingly
Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly.
Enthusiastic love for God
The LORD will go out like a mighty man. He will stir up zeal like a man of war. He will raise a war cry. Yes, he will shout aloud. He will triumph over his enemies.
Eagerness to do God’s will
Jesus said to them, “My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work.”
Be eager for the gifts of the Spirit
So also you, since you are zealous for spiritual gifts, seek that you may abound to the building up of the assembly.
Be eager to do what is good
Looking for the blessed hope and appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify for himself a people for his own possession, zealous for good works.
Wait in eager expectation for God
For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
