Graduating with a master’s degree during a global pandemic was an unsettling time.

I had worked so hard, followed where I felt God leading, but now the job prospects were dim. I had a summer job lined up, but nothing permanent for afterward and I wrestled with feeling like I had failed. Fear and discouragement constantly threatened to keep me company.

I knew that God would be with me, He wouldn’t forsake me, but where was the job and the provision I needed?

Deuteronomy 31:8 instructs us that the Lord will be with us, that He won’t fail or forsake us and that we are not to be afraid or discouraged.

When I felt like being discouraged, I know God took care of me.

After that summer job, I was able to get a year-long internship. I was making hardly any money, but my needs were taken care of and God was with me.

As the internship progressed, I still had no permanent job lined up, but God wasn’t done.

When the internship ended, I got an interview and was hired for a full-time job!

It can be difficult to trust that everything will work out, but don’t be afraid, don’t be discouraged — God’s promises are true!
