As a child, I savored moments when my friends would share their secrets — or information about someone else’s secrets — with me.

We would go to a private place and speak in hushed tones, giggling or looking in shock at each other as we relished our childish exchange. But I’ll never forget when a friend told me that she would no longer share secrets with me because as she put it, “You talk too much.”

I quickly learned my lesson. I would no longer spill the tea.

Spilling the tea is an urban phrase that means disclosing sensitive information.

Thankfully, I no longer spill the tea, but I am interested in God spilling the tea to me, especially as it relates to my life. I’m interested in knowing God’s heart and desires. What does God want to reveal to me?

The Bible is a great place to start. There we find God’s heart and, if we seek Him wholeheartedly, He’ll renew us through His revelation.

Just like I had to go to a private place and give my undivided attention to my friends who were sharing their innermost secrets with me, God will reveal new things to those who savor His presence.
