In April, 2020, the plague of Coronavirus dominated the news.

I, like the rest of the world, had to stay at home for weeks. Our pastor told us that in one week he had six funerals. We all felt the reality of death.

What can Christ offer in the face of death?

In Luke 24:5-6, the angel said: “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here but has risen.”

Jesus rose from the dead. People who saw the risen Jesus with their own eyes and touched Him with their hands spent the rest of their lives talking about the resurrection.

Jesus’ resurrection guarantees hope in the face of death.

Because Jesus rose and defeated death, He said, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die yet shall he live” (John 11:25).

The resurrection of Jesus breaks the bondage of death and sets us free in this life and for the next.

“For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life” (Romans 6:23).

If you believe in Jesus, you do not fear death. Through an intimate relationship with Jesus, you can be ready to face death at any time, knowing you have hope because Jesus holds the key to eternity.
