Watching children develop personalities and interact with others is fascinating.

In one family, you could have a kid that has no problem approaching others, asking for things, or seeking assistance, while their sibling is shy and doesn’t ever want to ask for help.

I was definitely the sibling who never wanted to ask for something, I always felt like I was bothering people if I did. However, there were a few people I never felt bad about approaching. I had no problem going up to my parents and asking them for things, because I knew that they welcomed me and gave the help I needed.

Sometimes we view God like a child that is too shy or scared to approach others and ask for help. We aren’t sure if we are welcome or if we will get the help we need.

However, Hebrews 4:16 promises that we can boldly approach God and ask for help. We are given access to seek grace and mercy, with the assurance that we will receive it because of Jesus.

When we accept what He did for us by becoming human, dying for us, and returning to heaven as our sympathetic priest, we receive grace and mercy when we turn to God and truly ask for it.
