Justice is what is right or “as it should be.” Justice flows out of God’s holiness. It is one of His attributes. In the Bible, righteousness and justice are often used synonymously.
Sin is iniquity and contrary to God’s holy nature. To save me from my sin, Jesus came to be my substitute on the cross, thus showing that His justice was not violated, but satisfied instead (1 Thessalonians 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 5:9).
I long for the time when Jesus comes and reigns. Then, God’s righteous justice will fully be displayed forever.
Jesus did not come to abolish God’s law; He came to accomplish His law
Don’t think that I came to destroy the law or the prophets. I didn’t come to destroy, but to fulfill.
Justice is a joy to me
It is joy to the righteous to do justice; but it is a destruction to the workers of iniquity.
Instead of taking revenge, I leave it to my God
Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.”
I want to see a mighty flood of justice
But let justice roll on like rivers, and righteousness like a mighty stream.
God will give justice to His chosen people
The Lord said, “Listen to what the unrighteous judge says. Won’t God avenge his chosen ones who are crying out to him day and night, and yet he exercises patience with them? I tell you that he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
I should learn to do good and seek justice
Wash yourselves. Make yourself clean. Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. Cease to do evil. Learn to do well. Seek justice. Relieve the oppressed. Defend the fatherless. Plead for the widow.
Christ wants me to be just while fulfilling my other duties
Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you tithe mint, dill, and cumin, and have left undone the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faith. But you ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
I will turn from evil and do good, for Jesus loves justice
Depart from evil, and do good. Live securely forever. For the LORD loves justice, and doesn’t forsake his holy ones. They are preserved forever, but the children of the wicked shall be cut off. The righteous shall inherit the land, and live in it forever.
The LORD wants me to judge fairly, to show mercy and kindness
Thus has the LORD of Hosts spoken, saying, “Execute true judgment, and show kindness and compassion every man to his brother.”
My LORD is gracious to me, for He is a God of justice
Therefore the LORD will wait, that he may be gracious to you; and therefore he will be exalted, that he may have mercy on you, for the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all those who wait for him.
I willingly act justly, for God requires it
He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does the LORD require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
Evil people don’t understand justice
Evil men don’t understand justice; but those who seek the LORD understand it fully.
God loves justice; thus, He will reward me when I live in truth
For I, the LORD, love justice. I hate robbery and iniquity. I will give them their reward in truth and I will make an everlasting covenant with them.
God warns that I should not twist justice in legal matters
You shall do no injustice in judgment. You shall not be partial to the poor, nor show favoritism to the great; but you shall judge your neighbor in righteousness.
God blesses those who act justly
Blessed are those who keep justice. Blessed is one who does what is right at all times.
God will judge everyone, both good and bad
I said in my heart, “God will judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”
God requires judges and officials to judge the people fairly
You shall make judges and officers in all your gates, which the LORD your God gives you, according to your tribes; and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment. You shall not pervert justice. You shall not show partiality. You shall not take a bribe, for a bribe blinds the eyes of the wise and perverts the words of the righteous. You shall follow that which is altogether just, that you may live and inherit the land which the LORD your God gives you.
