Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.” Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.
When Jesus faced His death, He prayed for you and me. That’s right-even though you and I were not there when He was on the cross, it is important for us to know He was speaking about us when He said, “Father, forgive them, for they don’t know what they are doing.”
It doesn’t matter what you’ve done in the past-even yesterday or this morning. When you accept Jesus as your Savior He will forgive and help you to turn your life around so that you can live the life God created you to live.
Especially when you feel you are too far away from God, or when you think of it’s hopeless, that is the time you listen to Jesus’ prayer on the cross. So, come to Jesus. He will not only forgive you, but He will also give you the promise of paradise–eternal life with Him.
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9
Lord, thank You for praying for me and for saving me from my sin. In Your Name, I pray, Amen.
