Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
Through today’s verse, Paul teaches us wisdom should be used in our actions—our “walk"—toward unbelievers.
Our actions and words should be consistent to share Jesus’ love with others.
Paul also teaches us to use our time wisely and effectively. Some versions of the Bible interpret this phrase as "making the most of every opportunity.” Consider each moment as a God-given opportunity to serve Christ and others. Nothing can stop Paul from using his time to share Jesus with others. Flogging, imprisonment, and even shipwreck inspired Paul to boldly proclaim Jesus to unbelievers.
Time is short. Whether by natural plague, accident, or the return of Jesus, we can take our last breath on earth at any time. You and I should be motivated by the fact that the people around us will die without Christ unless they hear and receive Jesus.
Paul solemnly urged us in the presence of God and Christ Jesus, who will someday judge the living and the dead when He appears to set up His Kingdom: preach the word; be urgent in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort with all patience and teaching (2 Timothy 4:1-2).
Help me to maximize my time to share Jesus with others in my daily life as Paul did.
In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
