“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you. You will be witnesses to me in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the earth.”
Roy Weece was an amazing man of God; husband, father, preacher, evangelist. He was tall and had a deep, commanding voice, but when talking about his Savior, there was always a reverence in that voice, as well. Roy never knew a stranger and never passed up the opportunity to share the good news of the Gospel.
One of my favorite things about Roy was his boldness for Christ. He would pick up hitchhikers with the intention of witnessing to them. Once they were moving down the road he would ask, "Do you know Jesus? Let me tell you about Jesus.” And then he would. He smilingly said they were a captive audience.
None of us knows how many—if any—of those people came to know Jesus personally, but every single one of them at least learned who Jesus is and what He did for them. They heard because of Roy. Who hears because of you?
Father in Heaven, give me the courage to share the message of the Gospel with the people I meet—strangers, family, and friends. In Jesus’ Name, I pray, Amen.
