Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.
1 Corinthians 13:4, 7-8
Take a minute to look…really look at the definition of love according to the one who created love. God. God doesn’t mention anything about love depending on the way we look, the clothes we wear, how much money we have, or what we do for a living. No, in God’s eyes, love is about who we are on the inside as well as how well we reflect our inner-self to others.
As you think about your relationships, think about which ones are based on love as God defines love and which ones aren’t. Now ask yourself this: Which relationships are the most positive, fulfilling, and healthy? I know! I know! They are the ones based on love God-style.
Don’t settle for less than love God-style. You are worth more than that.
Pray: God, help me give love the way you define love. Let me be confident fully in You to accept only God-style love from others. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
