Don’t Wait

by Darla Noble and Joyverse

Song of Solomon 8:7

Many waters can’t quench love, neither can floods drown it. If a man would give all the wealth of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.

Think about your favorite person.

How does being with them make you feel? What do they do that brightens your day, enriches your life, warms your heart?

What are three things you most admire about them?

In what specific ways have they blessed you?

When was the last time you told them — really told them — what they mean to you?

How many times have you heard someone say, “I wish I would have told them how much I loved them.” Or, “I wish I would have gone to visit them more often, or done ‘this or that’ while they were still here”?

The message is clear: time on this earth is short. Love is the most precious commodity we have. It is even more precious than time.

If you love someone, don’t wait. Tell them.

If you love someone, don’t wait. Show them.

If you love someone, don’t wait. Act like it.

Love gives us courage, strength, hope, confidence, security, and a reason to be.

Whether your love is the kind of love you express toward friends, extended family, children, or spouses, it doesn’t matter. Just make sure you don’t let love go unsaid.

Reflection

How do I feel when people express their love to me? How can I more readily express my love to others who are important to me?

Prayer

Dear God, Thank You for loving me. Please make me conscious of the need to let people know I love them. Don’t ever let me wait too long to let them know. In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
