I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.
During the German blitz against London during WWII, someone asked an elderly lady how she was able to maintain such a peaceful attitude about everything. Her reply: “Every night I pray, but when I begin to worry about what Hitler is doing, I just remember what the preacher said—that Jesus is watching. So then I am able to go to sleep. After all, there is no use for two of us to be up all night.”
When you place your trust in Jesus it enables Him to solve your personal problems. Remember, He has promised to give you the confidence and peace you need to face them, but you have to allow Him to be there (in your life) for Him to give you those things. Over and over again in the Bible words like, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you…” (John 14:27)
You can have this peace by focusing your thoughts on Jesus and trusting in Him. Jesus is your best friend. He is always listening and ready to share your problems and your joy.
Prayer: Jesus, Give me Your peace so that I can face anything with the confidence that I am not alone. In Your name I pray, amen
